[RE-POST] Problem Solving: Unemployment

This blog post is a re-post of Problem Solving: Unemployment from Wednesday 29 November 2017 at 10:00.

Being unemployed, and getting told different ways to applying for work is hard. One way to find work is the Speculative Approach by writing a letter enquiring about vacancies, accompanied with a CV. However, a lot of companies get job seekers to apply online and do not accept CV’s.

I needed to find companies who do accept CV’s, then send a CV accompanied with a cover letter.

To do this, I had to call or visit different companies to enquire about the person who deals with recruitment and about vacancies, providing excellent customer service, with excellent communication skills, maintaining good eye contact (if in person) and took essential notes.

By doing this, I had a few interviews and some declining letters. I took notes on who dealt with recruitment, along with their contact details, how to apply and follow up with who had not replied, and those companies who did reply, thanking them for their declining letter.
