Introduction

I initially found the article from the Daily Mail before I found the article from the i newspaper.

Why did this article catch your attention?

This article caught my attention because Wetherspoon plans to expand and create 10,000 new jobs across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Where will the 10,000 new Wetherspoon employees be based?

The list from both articles does not provide the full list of locations for the 10,000 new jobs at Wetherspoon, but here’s a list of those locations that they do mention:

  • Bourne, Lincolnshire
  • Ely, Cambridgeshire
  • Diss, Norfolk
  • Felixstowe, Suffolk
  • Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire
  • Prestatyn, North Wales
  • Hamilton, South Lanarkshire
  • Waterfield, Ireland

When will the 10,000 new jobs be available?

It looks like, after reading both articles, the 10,000 new Wetherspoon jobs would be created over the next four years.

How would this benefit the 10,000 new Wetherspoon employees?

This is huge for the 10,000 new Wetherspoon employees.

The 10,000 new Wetherspoon employees would be financially better off most of all by earning money from employment, rather than claiming Universal Credit (unemployment benefits).

It would also benefit them mentally and physically.

Who else would this benefit?

It’s not just the 10,000 new Wetherspoon employees who would  be having a buffet. Here’s a list of others who would benefit:

Customers and Clients – With more new hotels and restaurants, customers and clients will be able to have more of a choice of locations on which  Wetherspoon hotel and restaurant the would like to sleep and eat at.

Wetherspoon – With having more hotels and restaurants, Wetherspoon should be able to make more of a profit from the sales of the food and the renting out of the rooms.

The Government – With the 10,000 new Wetherspoon employees being employed, if they earn enough money, the Government would receive taxes from them. Not only that, the Government would not have to fork out as much money in Universal Credit payments just over £300 per month. For 10,000 people at £300 per month, it equates to £3 million per month.

I am interested in applying for one of these jobs. What do I need to do to apply?

Whenever I have completed a Company Hunt and visited a Wetherspoon restaurant, I was advised to apply via their careers page, so have a look.
