What is a cover letter?
A cover letter is a professional letter outlining what you are able to do – your skills, knowledge and experience – which interlinks with your CV. Each cover letter will be similar, but is never the same for every jobs application.
You will always need a cover letter for every job application that you do.
Why do I need a cover letter?
You would need a cover letter because, as mentioned in my last question, you will need to outline what you are able to do, but with a little more information than your CV has.
When do I need a cover letter?
Simple answer: As soon as possible
It is best, though, to have your brand spanking new CV in front of you to help you with this, as both will be interlinked.
I have problems with reading and / or writing. How do I go about this?
Not a problem at all.
If you have a family member or a friend who can help you, that would be very helpful. If not, not to worry. There are companies out there who can help you with it. Here is a list of companies:
- Dyslexia
- Find It Out (13 – 25 year olds)
How are cover letters written?
It is best to type cover letters rather than handwriting them. However, handwriting cover letters shows a personal touch.
