I felt that it was not as enjoyable as it usually is, as my mind is in “father mode”, since my fiancée & my baby girl was born in November.

Mitie workers go on strike

Mitie
Metro, Tuesday, April 9, 2019, p20

Why did this article catch your attention?

This article caught my attention because Mitie employees at both London City Airport and Sellafield nuclear site will strike over pay.

Who would be affected by this?

These strikes are going to cause havoc and disruption at London City Airport and the Sellafield nuclear site. It would affect other employees at both sites, as well as the customers.

What are your thoughts on this?

It’s completely wrong that they (or anybody for that matter) to go on strike over pay. They have jobs and are getting paid for it.

I feel that Mitie should sack them and hire people who would put their heads down, who won’t strike.

There are too many people claiming Universal Credit (unemployment benefits) who actually want and need a job. I know several people claiming Universal Credit who are hardworking and would get their work completed, without having to strike.

Conclusion

People find employment to get the experience they need and the pay they require, so they can pay for the necessities, like rent, council tax, etc.

These greedy employees at Mitie don’t have any consideration for anybody else but themselves. Is that fair to others?

Mitie should just sack those who strike over pay and the world would be a slightly better place.
